My name is Asuron my country has no temple…
Hallo,
My name is Asuron Lobuin i am 16.
i would like to describe my painting that i submited for the voice of virtue contest. Am from a small town in kenya called Eldoret in africa. My country has no Temple the close one is in south africa which is about 6000km away.
My painting is an inspiration to me because it gives me hope that one day the temple will be build in my country. The man standing alone looking at the temple in my painting represents me, when i look and visualise the temple it helps me to keep the commandments and to always making the right choices, the other people on my painting represents the people of the world, it depicts the african culture of traditional worshiping of animal sacrifice.
But for me i dont believe in that anymore because i have the restored gospel in my life and my goal is to go to the temple one day.
I have been a member of the church for the past 5 years, my father is a member but my mother is still in the village but i pray one day she will join the church. I love the church with all my heart, i love the activites and the teachings of the church.
Thanks for giving me the chance to bear my testimony about my painting.

dear asarun im pround of you of having such a desire to attend the temple..am thabiso from kagiso ward.the Temple is a 40 min drive, but i only went last year.now im preparing to go soon thanks to you
Asarun. When I saw your painting, I felt a stirring that this was something special. Thank you for sharing it with us. Stay strong in your faith.
Thank you, Asarun, for your lovely painting and your beautiful, powerful testimony. The people of Africa and those of African descent seem to have been given an extra special gift of spirituality in these last days. It is their time for the restored gospel. We hear how reverent and respectful the members in Africa are towards the Church, in their meetinghouses, and when they are able to go to the temple. I have seen videos of African Saints singing and felt the joyful spirit they have. They cherish the gospel because they have to work so hard and sacrifice for it. Heavenly Father knows these things and you will get your temple as people are faithful and the Church grows in your area. I am sure of it. Jesus Christ lives! He has restored his Church on the earth! No matter what, never give up doing the basics each day of praying, studying the gospel, serving others, and keeping the commandments. You will be greatly blessed for your faithfulness.
Asarun, Keep faith, Our Heavenly Father, Our Brother Jesus Christ, has a plan for you. One day there will be a temple built closer to you. In the mean time, try to arrange a group trip to the temple. dont know how hard it would be, but worth it. Im so glad that you found the gospel. It made a big difference in my life. May the good Lord bless you and your family, may he bless you with love, joy, happiness, wisdom, knowledge that he loves you. I say this in the name of our Brother, Jesus Christ, our Savior, amen.
Asuran, this is the video I shared with my morning seminary class.

I challenged my 5 boys to take up the challenge, and one day stand in sacrament meeting and announce that they had prepared for, and had received their mission calls to…….
I told my one young woman, to be able to stand up, and say that she had accepted the challenge of her seminary teacher, and other leaders to prepare to one day attend the temple, and serve a mission, and that she was either going to be serving in …….. or that as a result of that preparation, she was now ready to be sealed in the temple to her eternal companion.
Asuran, your story demonstrates how you have clothed yourself in the whole armour of God, and I applaud you, for taking the same challenge. That by preparing to enter the temple, you are also bearing witness to the world of its magnificence.
Well done and Thankyou for this example
